October 3-5, 2013, The Phoenix Symphony will be joined by guest conductor Philip Mann for music by Beethoven, Debussy and Strauss. Philip is a former Rhodes Scholar, a winner of the Vienna Philharmonic Karajan Fellowship, and, a former ASU Sun Devil.

This season the Sonoran Desert Chorale celebrates their 20th anniversary. Jeff Harris, director of the Chorale and Kevin Gardner, a member of both the Chorale and president of the SDC Board, and renowned American composer René Clausen join Janine Miller in the studio.

The search for a music director for the Phoenix Symphony continues, as the orchestra opens their 66th Season at Symphony Hall. Last season an array of guest conductors led the orchestra in a successful season, and this year will bring more of the same: audiences will be treated to a number of the world’s best and brightest talented young maestros. This Friday and Saturday, Andrew Grams returns, after a triumphant 2011 debut, to lead the Phoenix Symphony in Beethoven’s 9th.

The mission of the Arizona Bach Festival is close to our hearts: Inspire, educate, preserve, and elevate the appreciation of Bach.This Sunday, September 15th at 3pm, Dr. James Gerber, organist and scholar, presents “Bach-Instruments Old and New", at the Burton Barr Library in downtown Phoenix.
